Votes at a glance: Johnson City commission approves minutes, consent agenda and three ordinances

The Johnson City City Commission approved several routine and ordinance items on Sept. 8, recording roll-call votes for each decision.

Minutes: The commission voted to approve minutes from the regularly scheduled Sept. 4, 2025 meeting. Commissioner Fowler stated she abstained because she was not present; other commissioners voted in favor.

Consent agenda: The commission approved the consent agenda after a motion and second. Commissioners Brock, Fowler, Wise, Vice Mayor Cox and Mayor Hunter recorded affirmative votes.

Ordinance 49-28-25 (second reading, public hearing) — sanitary sewer easement abandonment at 2715 North Roan Street (Pritchett Family Limited Partnership): Staff stated no changes since first reading; the public hearing was opened and closed with no speakers and the ordinance was approved on second reading.

Ordinance 49-30-25 (second reading, public hearing) — conveyance of approximately 700 sq. ft. of Walnut Street right-of-way to Well Inc.: Assistant City Manager Steve Willis said a minor quitclaim deed language change was made to surrender any city interest; the public hearing had no speakers and the commission approved the conveyance.

Ordinance 49-26-25 (third and final reading) — FY2025 supplemental budget: Assistant City Manager Willis summarized the ordinance as primarily a cleanup of previously approved items and necessary adjustments for school funding timing; commissioners approved the supplemental budget on final reading.

All of the ordinances and the consent agenda were approved in recorded votes during the meeting.
