Wayne County elections office signs three‑year IGA with Jessup, Scriven and Odom

Robbie Smart, representing the Wayne County Board of Elections, presented a three‑year intergovernmental agreement with the cities of Jessup, Scriven and Odom to have the county elections office run municipal elections on their behalf.
Smart said the agreement was presented to leaders in all three municipalities and each city signed the IGA. The agreement sets a cost‑recovery payment of $0.50 per registered voter or a $500 minimum per election, whichever is greater; smaller municipalities that do not exceed the $500 threshold will pay the $500 minimum. The IGA covers regular and special elections involving the three municipalities during the three‑year term and must be renewed before November 2028 if the parties wish to continue.
The commission voted to accept the intergovernmental agreement by motion and roll call.
