District finance officer reports enrollment is slightly below budget; levy process set for September

She said the district historically adds students after the school year starts and that enrollment typically stabilizes; she will continue monthly reporting on counts.
On audits and reporting, Angie said auditors were on site in July and that there were no findings from the audit work completed to date. Financial year‑end data from the state (MBE) is slower than usual because of retirements at the state office; field work is scheduled for the week of Sept. 29 and she expects a clearer fund‑balance picture by October.
Angie said the levy process for pay‑2026 (revenues in FY 2026‑27) has begun; preliminary levy materials were submitted to the Minnesota Department of Education and the finance committee will review levy drafts before the board considers a preliminary levy at the Sept. 24 meeting. She invited finance committee members to schedule a review meeting before the next board meeting.
The board moved to approve the financial report by motion and voice vote.
