The Murfreesboro City Council recorded votes on several consent and action items during the Sept. 11 meeting. All of the listed actions below were moved, seconded and approved by roll call unless noted otherwise.
• Thompson Lane easement additional funding: Approved an additional $191,644 for seven counteroffers, bringing the current easement acquisition total to $880,644. (See separate article for details.)
• Change Order No.1 — Housing rehabilitation at 2227 Haven Drive: Approved a $2,300 change order for drywall patching and a ramp with landing; staff recommended and the council approved the change order.
• Down-payment assistance — 607 Olympia Place: Approved a $10,000 down-payment assistance award to a qualified first-time homebuyer under the city’s affordable housing assistance program.
• Ordinance 25-032 (FY26 budget amendment): Adopted a housekeeping amendment to update the FY26 budget for FY25 carry-forward amounts.
• Beer permit ownership change — 1251 South Church Street: Approved ownership change pending final building and codes inspections.
Roll-call tallies included recorded Aye votes from Miss Gail Harris, Vice Mayor Shacklett, Mister Wade, Mister Wright and Mayor McFarland for the items where roll-call was read into the record.
What’s next: Staff will proceed with contract and project implementation steps where relevant and return to council for further approvals if additional appropriations or formal agreements are required.
