Fred Aiella, representing Bear Oil Company, presented the company’s fuel and lubricant services and demonstrated tank-monitoring technology the company says can track fuel on-site and remotely. Aiella described a 'wonder box' dispenser-control that assigns user codes to limit unauthorized fueling and said the company provides 24/7 dispatch for deliveries and emergency response. He said his firm has a corporate office in San Antonio and a local yard in Weslaco and that the company could supply fuel (gas, diesel, red diesel) and tanks to county precincts without rental fees.
Aiella: 'We offer also the cutting edge of technology, which is, tank monitoring,' and he said the system allows commissioners to view fuel levels on Android, Apple or desktop applications. The court suggested Aiella arrange individual appointments with commissioners and precinct fleet managers to review equipment compatibility and current supplier arrangements.
The presentation lasted the allotted five minutes; the presiding judge suggested scheduling one-on-one meetings with individual commissioners and relevant offices (such as the sheriff's office) to determine whether to adopt Bear Oil's systems.
