Sponsor withdraws motor-vehicle-noise ordinance citing enforcement limitations

Miss Ellis, sponsor of BL2025955, told the Government Operations & Regulations meeting she intended to defer the ordinance to revise it but ultimately withdrew the bill because Metropolitan Police Department patrol officers’ dashboard does not allow them to identify parcel zoning. Miss Ellis said that limitation would make the ordinance as she had drafted it ineffective in residential areas and suggested another member might take it up for improvement.
Unidentified Speaker 1 confirmed the bill was withdrawn and the meeting proceeded to the next item. No formal vote on the ordinance was taken because the sponsor withdrew it.
