Victoria council approves consent agenda including emergency monitors, TxDOT signal agreement

The Victoria City Council approved a 12-item consent agenda at its Sept. 16 meeting, clearing purchases, grant-authorizations and routine contract actions.

City staff read the list of items for adoption, which included the adoption of minutes from Sept. 9; a resolution designating authorized signatories for the CDBG regional mitigation program; a resolution authorizing filing a grant application with the Golden Crescent Regional Planning Commission; and a resolution approving the purchase of eight LifePak 35 cardiac monitors from Stryker for the Victoria Fire Department for a total of $588,042.80 over five years.

Other items approved included a lease renewal with Siddons Martin Emergency Group LLC for space at the City of Victoria service center, a Texas Department of Transportation selective traffic enforcement grant of $31,882.95 (which requires a $6,779.95 city match), a change order to the Siddons Martin services agreement for apparatus maintenance, and approval of a grit washer purchase for the regional wastewater treatment plant not to exceed $215,000. The council also approved a $148,290 contract with Pavecon LTD for a golf course and library overlay project and rejected all proposals for the Victoria Public Library roof replacement project number 25-1072-46.

The consent agenda passed on a voice vote after a motion to approve 'as read.' Mayor Duane Crocker announced the result after members responded 'aye.'

Council members and staff said the items would proceed to contracting and implementation steps under the departments identified in each resolution.
