OSU student to finish AOA grant work that will inform Guthrie library’s strategic plan

The Guthrie Public Library's strategic‑plan effort will incorporate findings from a student research project funded through an AOA grant, the director told the advisory board on May 21.
Cameron said she contacted Avery, the OSU student completing the grant work, and expects the project to be finished by mid‑ to late June. "They're actually excited about doing a presentation or sharing the results of the research," she told the board.
Cameron said the grant evaluates the possibility of a library system or county‑level library arrangement and that the data will feed into the strategic plan regardless of a final system recommendation: "There's a lot of information on why people use the library and what they wanna see for the library. That is absolutely vital to form a strategic plan," she said.
Board members discussed whether the results would be presented in person or by Zoom and whether the board should schedule a special meeting or include the presentation in a regular session; Cameron said staff will coordinate timing and report back when the student finishes the work.
Cameron said once community input is compiled and analyzed, staff will take a lead role in the next phase of the strategic planning process with the board present for review and finalization.
