Budget advisory committee schedules Finance 101 primer and two public forums; tentatively plans first forum in early December

Unidentified Speaker 3, a committee member, proposed a short public-facing primer on district finances and a schedule of outreach: "We wanna publish our first primer, finance primer," followed by public forums tied to interim budget reports.

Members agreed on two forums per year: one near the first interim report (first interim noted as Nov. 20) and one near the second interim in March. Unidentified Speaker 1 suggested targeting a forum before Thanksgiving or a short window in early December; the committee tentatively placed a hold on December 3 for the first forum and discussed December 10 as an alternative.

Committee members discussed outreach channels to broaden participation beyond the small group that typically attends budget meetings. Unidentified Speaker 6 recommended using existing community gatherings such as "business coffee" events and social channels rather than creating new apps, noting prior surveys reached about "50 folks." The group agreed on building a persistent web feedback mechanism (a form or page) and to solicit questions in advance so presenters can prepare responses.

Logistics and content planning were assigned: Rebecca will lead primer development and Mark will continue working on forum logistics. The committee also agreed to record sessions and make them available for absent community members.
