District outlines 2025–26 school-site plan timeline and stakeholder process

District staff presented the timeline and process for developing 2025–26 School Plans for Student Achievement (SPSA), which sites develop with input from school site councils, English Learner Advisory Committees (ELAC) and staff.
The presenter said SPSAs are aligned with the district—s strategic plan and LCAP and include a comprehensive needs assessment, student-data analysis, performance metrics, evidence-based strategies and proposed expenditures. Staff said the timeline calls for draft plans to be submitted to ed services by Oct. 15, shared with trustees on Oct. 17 for review, and presented for board approval on Nov. 20. The presenter also emphasized stakeholder engagement and a district requirement that material presented about site plans in public meetings be translated into Spanish.
Trustees asked how the site plans will be used to inform any update of the district strategic plan, and they discussed balancing aspirational goals with achievable action steps. Trustees were encouraged to schedule meetings with principals during the two-week review window between Oct. 20 and Nov. 4.
Staff said they would not change the SPSA process this year to allow Superintendent Bair to observe the existing practice and recommend any adjustments as the district moves forward.
