Madison supervisors accept Walton Thompson Foundation playground gift; approve multiple supplemental appropriations

Items called out in the consent package included supplemental appropriation number 9 (capital rollover reported in the meeting as roughly $4,000,002.82), supplemental appropriation number 10 (a fire-program fund of $6,434), and supplemental appropriation number 11 (Hoover Ridge Park paving project for $46,127). Supervisors asked for the supplemental paperwork to be brought back at the next meeting.
During discussion supervisors and staff noted timing and weather constraints for completing playground and splash-pad work, as well as storage and logistics for equipment; local volunteer Chris Artelli was thanked for storing equipment on short notice. The board indicated it will coordinate contract terms, completion dates and the supplemental appropriation process to ensure the playground project can proceed without disrupting other county responsibilities.
