Chief financial staff explained the changes: an updated ADM (average daily membership) driven by enrollment shifts reduced Maintenance & Operations funding by roughly $1.97 million, while several one‑time legislative allocations (including a Group B weight and a capital formula add‑in tied to Prop 123) increased certain funds by about $2.2 million overall. The net district aggregated budget figures were adjusted on forms that must be submitted to the Arizona Department of Education. Miss Barry summarized those changes and reiterated that final reconciliations will be presented in December and again in May.
After adopting the revision, the board unanimously approved a resolution petitioning the Superintendent of Public Instruction for advanced payment of state aid. Finance staff described how Arizona’s payment schedule has been delayed in past years—requiring districts to request an advance to avoid tax anticipation notes or registered warrants—and that petitioning for advances is a routine cash‑flow tool when state timing threatens obligations.
Board members invited the public to participate in the district’s budget‑committee process and provided contact information for the business office.
