Taylor ISD's Board of Trustees approved routine business and a temporary procedural authorization during its Nov. 18 meeting.
The board approved the consent agenda, which included the minutes of the Oct. 21, 2024 regular meeting, tax and monthly financial reports, purchasing approvals, acknowledgement of cooperative fees and an improvement amendment regarding Lendy Inc., by voice vote. Trustee Shory made the motion to approve; Anita seconded; the presiding officer announced "Motion carries 6 0 with 1 absent."
Trustees then approved the election of personnel. Trustee Cheryl moved approval, Shorty seconded; the board again approved the item with a tally recorded as 6 in favor, 0 opposed and one absence.
On new business, the board considered an extension of superintendent hiring authority under policy DC local from Nov. 18, 2024 through Jan. 27, 2025 to permit the superintendent to approve a contract for a culinary/floral design teacher vacancy before the board's January meeting. Trustee Martin moved to extend the authority, Anita seconded; the motion carried 6-0 with one absence.
No executive session was requested for the personnel item and no additional conditions were attached to the approvals at the meeting.
