The Ithaca City School District board voted on several procedural items during its Dec. 17 meeting.
Early in the meeting the board voted unanimously to enter an executive session to discuss proposals, pending or current litigation, collective negotiations under Civil Service Law Article 14, and personnel matters including appointment and discipline. The motion to enter executive session was moved by speaker 3, seconded, and approved without recorded opposition.
Later, the board considered the consent agenda — covering accounts, the personnel report, and minutes of prior meetings — after a motion by speaker 11 and a second; the presiding officer called the question and the consent agenda passed unanimously.
Toward the end of the public session the board took up the appointment of a records management officer. A motion (mover: speaker 7) nominated District Treasurer Emily Scheip as records management officer for fiscal year 2024–25; board members noted the finance committee had discussed the item, that it related to recent business-office reorganization, and then voted unanimously to approve the appointment.
All votes recorded at the Dec. 17 meeting on these items were unanimous among those present; no roll-call names were recorded in the transcript for the executive-session or consent-agenda votes beyond the motioners and seconders cited in the meeting.
