Council approves Downtown Evansville EID 2025 budget after presentation by executive director

The Evansville Common Council on Dec. 9 approved Resolution C-2024-21, adopting the Downtown Evansville Economic Improvement District (EID) 2025 budget after a presentation by Adam Trinkle, executive director of the EID.
Trinkle told the council the EID’s mission is "to build a more active and inclusive Downtown Evansville," and outlined operations grouped into clean-and-safe services, events and marketing, and economic development. He said roughly 80% of EID revenue comes from property assessments paid by ratepayers and about 15% from sponsorships.
Trinkle recapped 2024 accomplishments: the EID collected more than 4,000 bags of litter, removed about 340 biohazard incidents, and produced 14 events. He said the April 8 eclipse drew visitors from more than 20 states and an estimated 8,000 people downtown; the EID also raised $40,000 from sponsors to open a free downtown dog park and launched an e-gift card program usable at about 20 downtown businesses.
Council members praised the EID’s work. Councilor Mosby said she appreciates the return of downtown vibrancy. After a roll call the council adopted the resolution by a recorded vote of nine ayes, zero nays.
The EID’s approved 2025 budget funds ongoing clean-and-safe operations, event programming and economic development initiatives the group described as intended to increase consumer footfall and downtown residency.
