A Climate Collaborative representative described the contract work as grant-funded and said the consultant team will revise the city's climate action plan, perform energy audits and complete a resiliency assessment. "The Climate Collaborative is currently under contract with Caramita Consulting. They are doing a huge project with us. It's totally grant funded, to revise our climate action plan, do energy audits for the city, and do a resiliency assessment for the city," the representative said. She explained the resiliency assessment will examine local hazards — drought, flood and intense storms — and analyze impacts to society, the economy and the environment so the city can form adaptation strategies.
Board members asked about sources for the consultant's data. The Climate Collaborative representative said the team relies on climate professionals across the Midwest and the country and will use multiple data sources to drill down on what could happen locally. Board Member 2 moved to approve the amendment; after a second, the board voted in favor.
The transcript records that the amendment is intended to fold an optional task into the agreed contract scope so the planned resiliency work will be delivered under the consultant agreement.
