Evansville Redevelopment Commission approves minutes, two resolutions and an accounts-payable voucher

The Evansville Redevelopment Commission unanimously approved routine minutes and an accounts-payable voucher and voted to adopt two resolutions Tuesday. The voucher includes the final payment for new decorative streetlights on West Illinois tied to a 2023 contract with Vectren.
The commission approved Resolution 24 ERC 37, a declaratory resolution to update and correct the redevelopment-area map for the Franklin Lofts project. Staff described the measure as “essentially the same declaratory resolution as was approved at the last meeting” and said bond counsel recommended a clean, superseding record because the area will be an allocation area for the next 25 years.
The commission also approved Resolution 24 ERC 38, authorizing an agreement with Rundell Ernstberger Associates for design and engineering of a paved multiuse path connecting First Avenue to Fulton Avenue. Lana, the staff presenter, described the work as design and engineering only and said construction funding will be assembled later by the city engineer. “This is the first part of a connection that’s gonna make another loop for our bike and pedestrian pathways across the city of Evansville,” Lana said.
All motions were moved and seconded and passed by roll call. Commissioners cast affirmative votes in each instance; the chair announced the outcomes following the roll calls.
The commission asked staff to notify Ron Diller and Sperger to begin work on the path design and noted the lighting payment was the final installment on the existing contract with Vectren.
