Evansville board grants 90-day temporary trailer parking permit to resident Melvin Stevens

Board members and staff asked clarifying questions about street configuration, enforcement and prior practice; one board member said the board’s policy had generally been to avoid issuing indefinite permits and instead provide temporary permits (for example, three months) while the resident looks for alternatives.
After discussion the board member moved to grant a 90-day permit (the transcript records the expiration as April 1, 2025), the motion was seconded and carried. Staff member Curtis said he would prepare the permit, collect required application information and route it for signature. The board’s decision was framed as a temporary accommodation allowing Mr. Stevens time to find a longer-term solution or return to the board if additional relief is needed.
