The City of Evansville Board of Public Safety voted Dec. 18 to award the city's towing contract to Ride Out Services, doing business as Tri State Towing, after the purchasing department reported it received a single bid for the contract.
A city purchasing representative told the board the lone submission came from Ride Out Services and asked for permission to make the award and sign the agreement. A board member asked whether Tri State had satisfied all bid and contract criteria; municipal legal staff replied the contract had been reviewed and approved by the city's legal office. A motion to approve the award was moved, seconded and carried.
The decision authorizes the city to execute the contract with Tri State Towing; the purchasing representative and legal staff confirmed that required insurance, bonding and contract criteria had been considered before the motion. The board did not set further conditions on the award during the public portion of the meeting.
The board took the vote during its regular session; there was no recorded roll-call tally of individual yes/no votes in the transcript beyond members saying “Aye.”
