Staff explained that corrosion discovered earlier in the year required inspection and replacement of multiple pipes and that Fisher Brothers has done prior work for the village. Trustee 3 moved to recommend awarding the aquatic center repair contract to Fisher Brothers; the motion was seconded and the committee approved it by voice vote. Staff said the work includes using more durable coatings (granular-zinc enhanced coating) on metal components and replacing welded supports with bolted stainless strut to reduce future corrosion.
The committee asked for before/after photos for the playground and pool repair work where applicable and for staff to coordinate scheduling with the contractor to minimize operational disruptions.
