Staff presented a draft village-owned park and facility naming-rights policy built from prior committee input and earlier drafts. The proposed policy would centralize naming requests that fall within the parks’ purview and set parameters such as term length and minimum donation or sponsorship thresholds. Staff said the document is not final and can be adjusted based on committee feedback before the board takes final action.
Trustee 3 moved to recommend the draft policy to the board of trustees; the motion was seconded and passed on a voice vote. Staff noted the policy takes into account the ongoing Kennedy Park effort and includes provisions for donation durations and documentation requirements. The committee asked that staff forward the policy to the board with any minor edits identified in committee discussion.
The recommendation will be presented to the board of trustees in December for final adoption or further amendment.
