Grant County commissioners on Dec. 2 approved a county attorney‑reviewed physical‑inspection contract for the county’s PSC tower sites and authorized purchase and installation of an outdoor warning siren.
Mr. Hicks told the board the tower inspection contract had been approved by the county attorney and carries a price of $9,480 for physical inspection only; repairs would be billed separately. When asked whether the inspection was mandatory, Hicks replied that it was.
Hicks also proposed buying and installing an electromagnetic rotating outdoor warning siren on county property (3900 block of the site described in the presentation) for $33,194, with a five‑year preventative‑maintenance contract totalling $2,500 billed annually. Commissioners discussed funding sources and agreed the expenditure could come from the county CCD equipment line pending an additional appropriation. A motion to approve the siren purchase and the five‑year maintenance arrangement was moved, seconded and carried.
The board instructed staff to complete paperwork to get the inspections and installation scheduled; the inspection contract does not include repair costs, which would be presented separately if needed.
