The council approved a staff recommendation to award a roof-replacement contract for the John Ed Keeter Building to Rooftime GC after a public bid process.
Assistant public works director Eric Kersey said three bids were received and Rooftime GC came in as the apparent low, responsive bidder; staff performed reference checks and recommended the award. Kersey told council the project is fully funded with ARPA funds and that the city must place the contract under agreement by Dec. 31 to secure that funding.
Council voted to approve the recommendation; the contract award will allow staff to meet with the contractor and set a January start date depending on scheduling and project coordination.
Ending: With council approval, staff will finalize contract terms and proceed with procurement under ARPA funding timelines.
