Staff updated the committee on multiple practical items: the winter trail maintenance program will continue largely unchanged from the previous two years (those winters were light on snowfall, limiting evaluation); the Ashwaubenon River Trail is included in the winter clearing plan; and staff flagged push-button locations that may require manual clearing.
On the Argonne Park connector, staff said crushed-gravel surfacing was installed along the back of the park as an eight-foot-wide connector; trail-clearing work in the woods is being prepared for bid advertisement with the goal of beginning contract work in January. The boardwalk bid for the project has already been approved, and staff said trail clearing and boardwalk installation schedules are proceeding.
Staff also noted a waterline repair near Eileen’s Candies damaged a section of Wabi Trail; the area is currently patched with cold mix and will be repaved when asphalt operations resume in spring.
Next steps: staff will advertise trail-clearing bids, monitor winter clearing performance, and restore the Wabi Trail section in spring when conditions and asphalt availability permit.
