The North Aurora police department announced it will participate in the Illinois Department of Transportation's "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign from Nov. 22 through Dec. 2.

Brad Porter (speaking in department-report context) said overtime for officers working the campaign will be reimbursed by a state grant. The department framed the effort as an enforcement push to deter impaired driving during the Thanksgiving travel window.

No additional operational details, staffing levels, or checkpoint locations were disclosed during the meeting.
