Town proclaims 'Officer Christie Laguna Day' as Davie officer retires after 23 years

The Town of Southwest Ranches on Tuesday read a proclamation honoring Davie Police Department Officer Christy Laguna, who will retire from the Town of Davie Police Department after 23 years of service on Oct. 10, 2024.
The proclamation, read by the mayor, said Laguna began service with the Town of Davie Police Department on July 16, 2001, and was assigned to Southwest Ranches in April 2020. The town said Laguna has been a “trusted and relied upon member of the Southwest Ranches family” and recognized her connection to community policing and the equestrian lifestyle in the town.
The council presented a plaque to Laguna; she accepted and thanked the council. The mayor and council asked residents and committee members to join for photographs and extended appreciation for her service.
Town officials said they will publicize the proclamation designation and thanked Laguna for her community work.
