Village board approves final plan for convenience store, drive-through and car wash after landscaping changes

Nathan, a village staff member, told the board Dec. 16 that the developer revised landscaping along the Asbury Building and installed a berm topped with evergreen trees after questions at a Citizen Advisory or committee meeting. "So they were able to revise the plan and install a berm there," Nathan said, describing the few-foot-tall berm and plantings.
The proposal is for an 8,000-square-foot convenience store with space for two restaurants, a drive-through for one restaurant, a separate diesel lane and a separate drive-through car wash. Nathan said representatives of the project were present for final approval and asked the board for a vote.
A motion to approve carried on roll call. Trustees Gaitley, Nejvej and Christiansen recorded "yes" votes in the roll call recorded on the transcript; Trustee Salazar recorded "no." The transcript records assent from other trustees though one response was not transcribed verbatim. The developer will proceed with the revised landscaping as described.
The approval concludes the matter of final site plan approval; no additional conditions were listed on the record. The board moved on to other business after the vote.
