Mayor Ford presented a proclamation honoring Kent Porter for "distinguished service to the city of Kearney, Missouri," noting Porter’s work on the planning and zoning committee and parks board across nine mayoral administrations. Porter accepted the recognition and spoke briefly. He thanked the board and reflected on changes to meeting length and local development. He said, "I guess, you know, if I had a regret, I would say, the regret was back in the parkour time when that we passed the the, recreation district ... but nobody ever saw fit to fund it. So, we have no pool." He closed by thanking the community for the recognition.
The board posed for a photo and presented Porter with a plaque and proclamation in appreciation for his decades of service.
