Fenton commissioners continue zoning-code amendment package to January meeting

The City of Fenton Planning and Zoning Commission voted Dec. 3 to continue consideration of case 2024TXT12, a package of proposed zoning-code amendments tied to the comprehensive development plan, to the commission’s January 7, 2025 meeting.
Amy, a community development staff member, told commissioners staff is still compiling materials for the package — which includes changes discussed previously such as the NU District, a new R-5 District and OT District revisions — and recommended a one-month continuance to finalize the text. Chairperson Yeoman moved to continue the case to next month; Commissioner Nelson seconded and the commission approved the continuance by voice vote.
Amy also reported the department had received one new application for the January meeting and reminded members that the application deadline is the coming Friday. The commission’s next regular meeting is set for Jan. 7, 2025, at 7 p.m.
