Design consultants from the Schroeder Group presented four feasibility options for renovating Methacton High School at the July 22 Methacton School District Board meeting, and board members pressed the team for clearer cost breakdowns, phasing information and more public engagement before a planned vote.
Josh and Devin Bradbury of the Schroeder Group outlined a framework that the consultants said will be evaluated for cost, constructability, phasing and educational impact. The consultants said each option includes a baseline package of work — building-envelope repairs (roof, windows, masonry), full mechanical/electrical/plumbing upgrades, and safety, security and ADA improvements — intended to make the building "warm, dry and safe." Visual concepts are scheduled to be shown at an Aug. 19 work session, with a property-committee update Sept. 9, final concept presentation Sept. 16 and an anticipated board vote Oct. 28.
