Acting Superintendent Dr. Wilson introduced Landings representatives, who described the awards program's categories (I'm Influential, I'm A Shining Star, I'm Distinguished Service, I'm Extraordinary, and a new "Your Incredible" award) and noted 128 nominations this year. Specific winners named during the presentation included David Taylor (McClintock), Mike Grama (Desert Vista), Hasiel Felix (Mountain Pointe), Amanda Leonhard (McClintock), Alicia Langbahn (district HR), Rodrigo Palacios Tenorio (Tempe High), Natalia Campbell (Mountain Pointe), Mickie Krebs (Desert Vista) and Diane Welling (special recognition).
The Landings representative said the credit union was founded at Tempe High in 1953 and announced a $7,000 community donation (to be split among schools and the district office) as part of its 70th-anniversary giving.
The board recessed briefly for photos; no formal board action was required.
