Tempe Union board approves contract increases, reciprocal parking agreement and consent items

During routine business on Jan. 18, the Tempe Union High School District governing board approved a series of motions by voice vote.

Agenda and consent items

President Montero moved to adopt the agenda at the start of the meeting; the motion was seconded by Member Barraza and passed 5-0. Later, the board approved consent agenda items F1–F6 by unanimous voice vote.

Business services approvals

The board approved Business Services item H1 (increase to multiple cooperative contracts) by a 5-0 voice vote.

On item H2, the board approved an increase to the running track resurfacing contract, with the contract amount reported in the meeting as increasing from $2,800,000 to $4,400,000. District staff stated the project is funded from the 2022 bond approval, that contingency and savings from other projects provide capacity to cover inflationary increases, and that some projects are coming in under budget.

The board also approved item H3: a reciprocal parking license agreement between Arizona Community Church and Tempe Union on behalf of Corona del Sol High School (motion passed 5-0).
