SAN FRANCISCO ' The Port Commission approved a First Amendment to the memorandum of understanding with the Municipal Transportation Agency and AutoReturn that extends use of Pier 70 Sewall Lot for vehicle storage and auctioning and preserves development flexibility for future Pier 70 work.
Brad Benson, special projects manager, said the amendment proposes a five-year extension through 2015 with monthly rent at about $139,000 subject to CPI inflation, $50,000 in historic interpretation signage for Pier 70 and up to $450,000 in rent credits to repair the Building 12 complex. The amendment also includes a 12-month notice-to-vacate provision the commission delegated to the executive director to ensure the site remains available for predevelopment and future development work.
Benson recapped the site's history and the original MOU terms, saying AutoReturn has been a tenant in good standing and that the port has received about $7.6 million in rent since 2005. Commissioners voted to approve the amendment (Resolution 10-41) on a voice vote recorded in the transcript as "Aye."
