Port Commission names Commissioner Kimberly Brandon vice president

The Port of San Francisco's Port Commission voted on July 13 to hold a special election to fill a vacant officer post and then elected Commissioner Kimberly Brandon as vice president.
The commission first approved Resolution No. 10-53, which staff said was needed because two commissioner terms and their 60-day holdover periods had expired, leaving the vice president's officer position vacant. After a motion, a second and a voice vote, commissioners approved the resolution to authorize a special election at the commission's next regularly scheduled meeting.
Commissioner Brandon was then nominated and seconded for the office of vice president. The commission called the question and approved the nomination by voice vote. Brandon thanked her colleagues and said she looked forward to working with President Fong, Commissioner Lazarus and the incoming commissioners.
Separately, the commission reconvened from an earlier executive session and voted that nothing discussed in that executive session be disclosed.
