Clean Power SF staff say program on track for May 1 launch

San Francisco Public Utilities Commission staff updated the commission on Clean Power SF and said the program remains on schedule for a May 1 service start. Barbara Hale, Assistant General Manager for Power, said the program has locked in supply pricing and completed contract negotiations and that final administrative steps — letters of credit and controller certification of funds — remain before contracts are effective. "We're on track for May 1 service," she said.
Hale presented final financial projections showing an improved outlook compared with the January presentation, noting a projected operating margin of roughly 16% and reserves for rate stabilization and growth. Staff indicated a stronger emphasis on early commercial-customer participation and said customer notification mailings would begin the following week; suppliers would be announced after the administrative steps were complete.
Supporters in the room, including Jason Fried of San Francisco LAFCO, urged residents and organizations to enroll in Super Green. Officials asked staff to continue outreach and report back on enrollment metrics.
