The San Francisco Police Department on Jan. 14 presented its Limited English Proficiency (LEP) services annual report and discussed data, certification and outreach efforts. Officer Stokes, the department's Language Liaison Officer, said the department recorded 2,954 LEP contacts in 2014, of which 2,699 used the phone interpreter service; the department identifies about 465 members who speak a language other than English, with 217 certified bilingual members.
