"I would like to nominate Suzy Loftus as president," Commissioner Turman said during the nomination.
Outgoing President Mazuko offered remarks thanking commissioners and staff for their work during her tenure and praised Chief Greg Rippieser, saying she believed he was "the finest police chief the city has ever had." Commissioners and staff responded with expressions of gratitude and support for the department.
The election followed the meeting's routine business, including approval of the consent calendar and departmental reports. The Commission then moved on to final announcements and adjourned later in the meeting.
