Vice President Turman and Commissioner Kingsley described the measure as an effort to “make sure that we understand, keep track of all the responsibilities, reports, and requirements that membership on this commission requires,” saying the draft had been vetted with department and OCC staff and was intended primarily as a calendaring and organizational tool. The package includes an exhibit that lays out when each report would appear during the calendar year.
Commissioner Loftus said she supported the goal of clarity but was hesitant to adopt the resolution without more information about whether any items listed had been eliminated or whether the resolution could be read as taking new action. “I don’t have enough information to make a determination,” she said, arguing the commission should be cautious about adopting a document that appeared to supersede other requirements without additional review.
Commissioners replied that the resolution documents what is already required by charter, administrative code or commission resolution and that two commissioners would follow up to analyze which reports remain useful. The final motion — adopted with adjustments to item 15 (allowing the fourth‑quarter/March report to be included in the annual report) and integrating exhibit B into exhibit A for clarity — passed on a roll call showing five ayes and one no.
Roll call recorded the following votes: President Mazuko — Aye; Vice President Turman — Aye; Commissioner Marshall — Aye; Commissioner Chan — Aye; Commissioner Kinsley — Aye; Commissioner Loftus — No. The resolution passed 5 to 1.
The commission scheduled additional follow‑up and indicated commissioners could propose later amendments if analysis showed some reports no longer had practical utility. Public comment during the item urged greater transparency in how the exhibits and backup materials are posted online and recommended clearer labeling of which agency must produce each report.
