The item would also accept and expend funds from CPMC, increase construction contingency, approve modification number 1 to wastewater enterprise contract WW41, extend the contract duration by 598 consecutive calendar days, and adopt environmental findings under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
Staff explained that CPMC is rearranging its campus and the MOU would allow the utility to move sewer lines under the same contract already working on the street so the hospital's campus work can proceed concurrently. A commissioner with a prior relationship sought and was granted permission to abstain; after a motion and second the commission approved the measures and carried the main motion.
Next steps: staff will finalize the MOU, implement the contract modification and proceed with construction activities subject to any required supplemental appropriations and Board approvals.
