The commission continued consideration of a proposed sublease that would transfer a 1.04‑acre strip of leasehold rights at the San Antonio Center to MGP IX Properties LLC.
Rosanna Russell, the commission’s real estate director, explained the sublease would require maintenance and include prevailing‑wage and working‑conditions provisions (identified in the sublease as Section 24.22). Commissioners asked whether prevailing‑wage classifications on file at the California Department of Industrial Relations would cover the specific horticulture and landscaping work expected, and requested the exact language and any referenced wage rates be provided to the commission before a vote.
One commissioner withdrew the motion until staff could return with the sublease text and supporting references; the commission agreed to continue the item to a future meeting. Staff said they would provide the specific prevailing‑wage citations and supporting documentation, noting that leases typically contain a general prevailing‑wage compliance requirement rather than a fixed dollar rate.
