At its Oct. 13 meeting, the San Francisco Police Commission approved routine consent items, moved a scheduled election of commission officers to a future meeting, entered closed session and then voted not to disclose the closed-session discussion.
Consent calendar items: The commission approved a $1,000 donation from Wells Fargo to be used for Mission Station's Christmas toy giveaway and approved a separate $1,000 donation from Karen Fireman for the mounted unit to support care and well-being of police horses. Both items were taken together and approved on the consent calendar without recorded objection.
Election of officers: Item 4, the election of commission officers, was postponed because the commission is not at full membership. Commissioners set the election for Oct. 27 to allow a full complement of members to participate.
Closed session and nondisclosure: The commission voted to go into closed session under item 7, including consideration of whether to assert attorney-client privilege regarding item 8b. After returning from closed session, a commissioner moved for nondisclosure of closed-session discussions, the motion was seconded, and the commission carried the nondisclosure motion.
No detailed roll-call vote-by-name was recorded in the public transcript for the consent approvals or the nondisclosure motion; outcomes were recorded by motion and chair action in public session.
