The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission recorded the following actions at its Dec. 9, 2008 meeting.
- Minutes adoption (Tab 3): Moved and seconded; voice vote announced by chair as carried.
- Consent calendar (Items A–L): Commissioners approved a package of routine contract modifications, final payments, rejects and revocations, and authorizations for revocable permits. Motion carried (voice vote).
- Item 10: Authorized the general manager to execute a 25‑year power purchase agreement and site lease for solar installations at Sunset Reservoir North Basin and Pier 96; motion adopted (voice vote). Staff will forward the PPA and site lease for Board of Supervisors consideration and pursue annual appropriation as required.
- Item 11: Authorized first amendment to the O&M agreement with Santa Clara Valley Water District to transfer certain maintenance responsibilities; motion adopted.
- Item 12: Authorized a memorandum of understanding among city agencies to coordinate infrastructure planning in the Eastern Neighborhoods (Seventeenth & Folsom); motion adopted.
- Item 13: Adopted CEQA initial study and mitigated negative declaration and associated findings for the Bay Division number 3 and 4 crossover project; motion adopted.
- Item 14: Authorized an MOU with Alameda County Resource Conservation District, not to exceed $2,000,000 for 60 months; motion adopted.
- Item 15: Authorized SFPUC to self‑certify as a meter data management agent (MDMA); staff said doing so eliminates a contract cost of roughly $15,000 per month; motion adopted.
- Item 16: Authorized execution of a purchase and sale agreement with Sierra Pacific Industries for a road and utility line easement in Tuolumne County supporting a communications upgrade project; motion adopted.
- Item 17: Approved exchange and conveyance agreement concerning portions of the Balboa Reservoir property with City College of San Francisco and related actions; motion adopted.
- Item 18: Approved plans, specs and award of contract WD2529 (Noe Valley Transmission Main Phase 2); motion adopted.
- Closed session: The commission met in closed session on security and anticipated litigation; commissioners returned to open session and reported several matters were settled in closed session; the commission voted not to disclose the closed session discussions and adjourned at 3:52 p.m.
