After a closed session Feb. 26, the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission announced that it had voted to submit the name of Edward M. Harrington to the mayor for consideration as the next general manager. The commission also reported settlements in several pending litigation matters and that there was no action on some items.
When the commission returned to open session, the chair read the closed‑session announcements: Item 16 (threat to public services) — no action; Item 17 — vote to submit Edward M. Harrington’s name to the mayor for general‑manager appointment; Item 19 — settled; Item 20 — no action; Items 21–23 — settled. The commission then moved, seconded and approved a motion not to disclose the closed‑session discussion. The meeting adjourned shortly thereafter.
