Commission elects Brooks as president and names Kane vice president

At the Jan. 23 meeting the commission moved to annual organization business, opening nominations for the presidency. President Sklar nominated Commissioner Brooks; a second was recorded and the commission voted in favor. Brooks accepted the gavel and briefly outlined priorities including oversight of large capital programs, environmental justice concerns and small‑business outreach.
Commissioner Anne Mulder Kane was nominated and approved as vice president. Commissioners offered remarks of thanks to outgoing President Sklar for his two years of leadership and requested a resolution of thanks to memorialize his service.
