The Police Commission on Aug. 27, 2008, moved and approved a motion to withhold disclosure of discussions from a prior closed session that concerned a personnel evaluation. The motion was made and seconded and the chair announced that non-disclosure was ordered.
During administrative business the commission announced reassignment and scheduling details for several disciplinary cases (case numbers C06-119 KMO, C08-048 ALW, C08-128 ALW, C08-110 RMW and C08-111 RMW) and placed those assignments on the public record. Commissioners also identified future meeting items including a public hearing on sanctuary policies (to be scheduled when a full commission can attend) and a detailed presentation, to be scheduled, on the department’s proposed use of tasers.
President Theresa Sparks asked the chief to prepare materials on tasers and to coordinate notification to state legislators who have been involved in related legislation. Commissioners also asked the department’s CFO to report on what, if any, commission staffing changes survived the recent budget and requested a briefing on the interim Early Intervention System (IEIS) rollout.
A motion to adjourn was moved, seconded and carried; the commission concluded business at 8:55 p.m.
