The San Francisco Police Commission on Oct. 3 voted, without objection, to keep closed-session discussion about Kellogg Jr. v. City and County of San Francisco confidential and to approve several consent calendar items.
After convening the meeting and calling roll, the commission moved into a procedural vote to retire into closed session and, upon reconvening at 6:09 p.m., voted to disclose none of the closed-session discussion. The nondisclosure motion passed by voice without recorded roll-call votes.
On the consent calendar the commission approved: acceptance of a $3,775 donation from PSI World for Northern Station community outreach; a recommendation that the Board of Supervisors approve the settlement in Kellogg Jr. v. City and County of San Francisco (Superior Court number read on the record); and acceptance of lodging and meals valued up to $4,500 from the Public Security Ministry of the People—s Republic of China for five department members (listed on the agenda as Chief Heather Fong, Captain Daniel McDonough, Sergeant John Nestor, Sergeant Neville Gittens and Inspector Felix Tiu) incurred during a trip related to the 2008 Olympic torch coordination.
There were no substantive questions from commissioners about these items and the consent calendar was approved by motion and second, "without objection." The meeting then proceeded to public comment and regular reports.
