Eric Raffin, DPH chief information officer, presented a resolution to accept and expend a $115,000 philanthropic gift from Epic Systems Corporation to support Epic electronic health-record upgrades, equipment and training for DPH—s safety-net sites. A motion to approve the gift was made and passed on a roll-call vote.
Staff also presented a recommendation to accept a bequest from the estate of Janet D. Kramer naming Laguna Honda Hospital as beneficiary of a retirement plan. William Fraser explained the Office of the Public Administrator notified Laguna Honda of the bequest and said the plan had a value of about $81,065 as of Feb. 7; the Commission recommended acceptance to the Board of Supervisors.
The Commission approved the consent calendar (including multiple contract extensions and new contracts reviewed by the Finance & Planning Committee) and adjourned. All action items passed on roll-call votes during the meeting.
