The San Francisco Health Commission voted to adopt the Department of Public Health’s 2019 state and federal legislative plans after staff incorporated commissioners’ feedback.
“Sneha Patel, Director of the Office of Policy and Planning,” explained that staff added language to the federal platform to support proposals that preserve, expand and improve veterans' health and social services and inserted new text in state and federal plans to support funding that strengthens violence‑prevention efforts, including street violence, gun violence and violence against women. The amendments reflected input from commissioners at the January 15 hearing.
Patel said pending commission approval, DPH will forward the state and federal legislative platforms to the mayor’s office for final approval.
