The Health Commission on Jan. 8 approved a resolution authorizing the Department of Public Health to recommend that the Board of Supervisors accept and expend a $141,000 donation to the Laguna Honda resident gift fund from Friends of Laguna Honda.
A representative of Friends of Laguna Honda told the commission the funds are earmarked for centers-of-excellence wishlist items, art-with-elders, technology and music programs to "benefit the health and well‑being of our residents to promote their quality of life at Laguna Honda." The commission thanked the Friends for continued support and discussed the organization’s new, more focused donation format.
The resolution was moved and seconded and adopted by voice vote; staff will forward it to the Board of Supervisors for formal acceptance and expenditure.
