The Health Service Board opened its June 13 meeting by adopting a resolution honoring the late Commissioner Randy Scott for his years of service, governance leadership and advocacy for equity in SFHSS oversight. Vice President Howe read the resolution, which detailed Commissioner Scott's appointments and contributions to the board’s governance, audit and fiduciary practices. The motion to adopt the resolution passed unanimously on roll call.
Later in the meeting the board completed its annual officer elections. By motion and roll‑call votes the board elected Claire Zavansky as vice president effective July 2024 and elected Mary Howe as president for the 2024–25 fiscal year. Both elections were uncontested and approved unanimously among the members present. Commissioners thanked staff and colleagues for service and support during the leadership transition.
